Qinhuangdao is a beautiful seaside city and famous tourist city in north China. It is one of the 14 coastal cities opening to the outside world and known as the country’s -Summer Capital-. The city covers an area of 7812 square kilometers and has a population of 2.68 million. 1155815


Qinhuangdao is situated in the northeast of Hebei province, about 280 kilometers away from the capital Beijing. Qinhuangdao has convenient communication systems: No. 205 state highway and there railway trunk lines(Beijing-Shenyang, Beijing-Qinhuangdao and Datong-Qinhuangdao) run through the city. Now, it’s only about two and a half hours, to drive from Beijing to Qinhuangdao since the highway between them is opened. In addition, there are more than 30 domestic air routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming and some other cities at shanhaiguan Air-port. So it is very convenient to travel in Qinhuangdao.

Qinhuangdao is a beautiful city; it has beautiful scenery, a pleasant climate, perfect facilities and unique natural resources. Every year the city attracts many tourists from home and abroad for sightseeing and holidays. The beach in Beidaihe, Nandaihe and Changli Golden Coast, with fine sands, gentle waves and pleasant climate, are ideal seaside resorts. The Old Dragon Head – the east starting point of the Great Wall, Shanghaiguan Pass – the first pass under heaven, jiaoshan Great Wall and Mengjiangnu Temple which was built according to a popular legend about the Great Wall make up a unique tourist area. Qinhuangdao Wild Animal Zoo, covered with trees, grass and flowers, is a zoo which takes up the largest area in Asia. In the zoo, you will enjoy feeding some tame animals and probably may have a chance to encounter them closely.
