Yuanxiao and the Yuanxiao Festival(3)

After the Goddess of Silkworms was gone, Zhang Cheng passed on to his fellow villagers the new methods of keeping silkworms he had learned from the Goddess. All the silkworm keepers benefited from him and they all had a harvest that year . On 15th of the first lunar month the next year, Zhang and his fellow villagers made a food in the shape of silkworms to the memory of Goddess. The food they had made was called tangyuan and it became a custom adopted by people far and wide. 祝福

Now tangyuan has become a popular delicacy.
